Remote Learning Green Meadow: Increase number of students attending Four days per week- Beginning February 1, 2021 Based on our consultation with medical and healthcare professionals, coupled with a review of practices across the commonwealth, we believe that it is still essential to maintain the six feet of distancing between students and adherence to mask wearing protocols. That said, the district will be loosening the cohorting of students in schools. The cohorting was only happening in classrooms, not on the bus, at extracurricular activities or at home. This change will allow us to increase the number of students who will be attending school four days while maintaining six feet of distancing. While we wish that we could return all of our students to in person learning four days a week, it is simply not possible to do so and maintain the six feet of distance. As such, the district will be inviting students to fill those spaces based on the need of the students in the following order. ● Students who need additional support to successfully complete remote learning ● Students whose families are struggling to provide childcare on the remote days ● Students who would prefer to be in person rather than remote Parents will be contacted by the administration as we move to the February 1 timeline. Based on information we receive from this next phase, a second invitation will be forthcoming in early March if all safety protocols are being met. Students identified are responsible to bring their own device (Chromebook + cord and headphones) and any other materials deemed necessary for their remote days. A take-home lunch will be provided if needed for students. To be clear, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to return every student who desires in person learning to a four day a week model but we believe that we can increase the number of students significantly by loosening the cohort restrictions. In order to maximize those spaces, the district will be asking parents to commit to either remote learning or hybrid learning for the remainder of the year by March 1, 2021. This will ensure that we can bring as many students in for four days as possible.

Maynard Public Schools Summer Update 7/19/2019: Interim Superintendent Search Update, Green Meadow Project Update The Interim Superintendent Search Committee was pleased with the range of experiences and qualifications of the applicant pool. After careful consideration, the committee conducted interviews with 6 finalists and feels confidant that an Interim Superintendent will be named as early early as next week. The Green Meadow project continues to be on track for an August 9th completion. Project Manager Bill Goddard is working closely with school and town officials to ensure projects in the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten wing continue on schedule. Custodial and Facilities staff are working hard to prepare the remainder of the building for the 2019-2020 School year. The Green Meadow Future Committee has provided the updated linked below, highlighting some of the work that has been completed thus far. We will continue to update the community as to the progress of this work. https://5il.co/8whg
