We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from the Maynard Community! Mr. Mark Malcolm, from the Maynard Public Library, visited with our kindergarteners this morning. Students were laughing out loud while listening to his joyful animated story telling. He has gift for entertaining children.
On behalf of all the Green Meadow staff, we would like to thank the many Maynard families who pitched in to surprise us with this thoughtful card and delicious breakfast on Thursday, February 7th! We received a call earlier in the week asking if some community members could show their support by sending in coffee and treats. It was much appreciated!
This week, we celebrated 100 days of school. Kindergarteners participated in creative activities such as making necklaces, crowns and other expressive representations of 100. They even did 100 excercises!
Some of Ms. Ginnity's kindergarteners enjoyed posing for pictures with Justin and Jennifer Mercurio. The couple recently took over the Mobil gas station on Main Street in Maynard. They came by Green Meadow to give us a $500 donation. The station obtained the grant money from Global Partners Educational Alliance to promote math and science enrichment.

The past two days, staff members have been busy planning and preparing new learning spaces for kindergarten and preschool. Carol Gahan, Special Education Director, was onsite helping to ensure plans are in place to meet the needs of all students.

Retired MHS Librarian, Linda Gilberti, donated this Gingerbread House as a raffle item to raise money for the Maynard Food Pantry. Raffle tickets are available in the GMS office and were sent home via backpack. The raffle winner will be announced on December 19th. Thank you to Ms. Gilberti for finding a fun way to raise funds to feed those in need!

With the change in seasons, many sweatshirts, mittens, and hats have been left behind. The rack in the back of the cafeteria is overflowing with misplaced items. Please encourage your children to check the Lost & Found regularly and feel free to browse the collection next time your visiting Green Meadows.

Our faculty lounge was filled with delicious treats and festive decor during parent teacher conferences thanks to many generous families! Thank you to the PTO and bakers whose thoughtfulness filled our bellies and hearts.

To reduce plastic in landfills, GMS students and teachers will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. Please help support our efforts by sending your kids in with any used markers you may have around the house- even non-Crayola brands! Highlighters and dry erase markers can also be included.
