August 29, 2013                                                Donna Dankner, Principal

The first day of each school year is always so exciting.   Students, teachers, and families are delighted to see each other, share their summer experiences, and become part of the classroom community.

We are delighted that our community has grown this summer with the addition of many new students and their families.   We are delighted to welcome to our staff grade one Spanish Immersion teacher, Angela Reyes, Grade 2 teacher, Lorna MacDougall, Literacy Specialist, Meaghan Reimer, Preschool teacher, Betsy Keane,   Speech and Language Therapist, Cheryl Feinstein, English Language Learner teacher, Nhan Bang,  Title 1 paraprofessional Rachel Badger, and Immersion Paraprofessional Maria Soler.   We are so fortunate that these talented and skilled educators have joined our staff.

In addition, we would like to offer a special welcome to our new Assistant Principal, Debbie Bresnick.  Debbie brings a wealth of experiences as a special educator, team chair, and classroom teacher.  She also offers experietise in math, science, and technology initiatives.  She is looking forward to getting to know all the students and families and collaborating closely with the staff as a member of the Green Meadow Community.

This arrival and dismissal times have changed for this year.  The school day begins at 8:30 and concludes at 2:50.   Weather permitting, students will be able to participate in a supervised outdoor arrival beginning at 8:15.

Please save the date….. The Green Meadow Back to School/ Curriculum Night will be held on Wednesday, September 25.  During this evening, parents will visit their children’s classrooms to learn about curriculum expectations and classroom routines from each teacher. This parent evening provides an opportunity to ask questions, gain understanding, and learn ways to support students as they master grade level curriculum. We hope you are able to join us for this informative program.

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
